What’s Next for Sports Square (and My 2026 Championship Picks)
Edition #313
Announcements
Happy New Year, everyone. Thanks for sticking with Sports Square and being part of the journey. As we kick off 2026, I wanted to share a few updates about where things are headed.
First, a website change MAY be coming soon. I’ve hinted at this for a while, and it’s finally getting close. More details will come as things are finalized, but this is a real shift, not just a cosmetic tweak.
Podcasts are also going to become more regular. They’re efficient for me to produce, especially with how fast the sports cycle moves right now, and they let me react in real time without overthinking it.
Articles aren’t going anywhere. On top of that, a Sports Summit is coming back. It’s been a while, and it feels like the right time to bring it back into the mix.
In terms of coverage, this year will look a little different. American sports will still be covered, but the main focus for the first half of the year will be global events, specifically the FIFA World Cup and the Winter Olympics. Those events deserve the spotlight, at least through the summer.
I’ll also be introducing sports business coverage. This is something I already spend a lot of my free time digging into, and it feels like a natural addition to Sports Square.
Daily breaking news is still something I’m considering. I’m not fully sold on it yet, but it’s on the table.
There’s a lot in the works, and I’ll be rolling out more details throughout the month. For now, let’s get into some predictions.
