Top 5 MLB Pre-Spring Training Power Rankings || NFC Wins against AFC in Pro Bowl Games
Edition #51. Should be a short one today.
Intro
Thank you all for all the support I got for Edition #50. It was the best. It had the most views, ratings, etc, etc!
Short one today… There's not much news this fine Monday, but I don’t expect the same Wednesday. Let’s begin!
NFC wins Against the AFC in the Pro Bowl!
The AFC were unsuccessful at making the big play in the end.
The NFC wins the Pro Bowl Games with an overall score of 64-59.
What happened?
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud's throw to Los Angeles Chargers receiver Keenan Allen was defended by Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson, creating a turnover on downs with four seconds remaining.
Keenan Allen was a standout for the AFC, with 90 yards on nine catches, including three touchdowns receiving and one passing.
Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb had three touchdown catches and Detroit Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had 10 catches for 117 yards and a TD for the NFC.
The Pro Bowl Games, now in the second year of the flag football format, was again seen as a success. Just like last year, what began as a not-so-serious competition grew increasingly competitive throughout the day, from the flag football game to the skills competitions. Points are accumulated throughout all events and calculated toward a total score.
The other thing that’s really good about this format is that it reduces injuries. Before 2022, it was tackle football, and some players who chose to play in the Pro Bowl even though they made the Super Bowl… Got injured… No one wants that happening…
"It's a flag game but, man, it's a bunch of competitors out there competing," said New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis, the defensive MVP.
Does winning matter?
If you play the Pro Bowl games, you get $44,000. If you’re on the winning team? $88,000. Plus, there are some other stuff. I’ll let Demario explain that.
"We're going against Peyton, man," he said. "We're going against Ray Lewis. And they are at the top of the universe when it comes to being competitive."
Who’s Peyton Manning? A Hall of Fame QB.
Who’s Ray Lewis? A Hall of Fame Linebacker.
Pretty cool, huh?
MLB Top 5 Power Rankings
We’re going to do Top 5, with explanations. The top 30 with explanations would take a while…
5)
Astros:
So many. And when I mean so many, I mean so many. Relievers. Departed from Houston. To help that? They signed Josh Hader to a FAT contract.
The pitching is really the strongest point of this team. The trio of Hader, Ryan Pressly, and Bryan Abreu will definitely be a plus point to a lot of games during the 2024 season, helping to support the starting rotation while they wait on the returns of Lance McCullers Jr. and Luis García.
After this season? Are you going to extend Jose Altuve and/or Alex Bregmen?
4)
Yankees:
There is only one reason this team isn’t ranked #5. The Astros have a few injuries. The Yankees? The one and only good splash they made is getting Juan Soto. They may have added Alex Verdugo too, but…
Okay, you know what, forget what I said before…
Veteran Marcus Stroman was also signed to plug a major hole in the starting rotation.
But…
The roster is still lacking depth behind their starters and if Carlos Rodon and Nestor Cortes don’t play like how they did last season???
If everyone can stay healthy, this team is a legitimate title contender, but a general lack of depth raises some questions about their ability to survive the injury bug.
3)
Phillies
Now this is a team that actually didn’t make any big splash other than Aaron Nola. But, they have a really good team, so they have to be here.
Let’s talk about the needs though.
Find a suitable replacement for Craig Kimbrel at the back of the bullpen, ideally a right-handed reliever to pair with lefties José Alvarado and Gregory Soto.
2)
Braves
This team has the most complete roster in baseball and there is no doubt about it.
They filled both of their biggest needs, signing Jared Kelenic and Chris Sale. The only question is, is Chris Sale going to be the same Chris Sale again?
1)
Who else can it be?
10 years, $700 million DH & Pitcher
12 years, $325 million Pitcher
Getting Tyler Glasnow, James Paxton, Teoscar Hernandez. Everything fell in place for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Still many players on the market, but this team has won the offseason, even though, they do not have the league’s most complete roster.
I’m really scared for the Dodgers… I mean, look at the Padres! Winning the offseason feels like a curse. If it breaks, this team is winning the World Series… No… Matter… What… Happens…

Sports Quote of the Day
“An athlete cannot run with money in his pockets. He must run with hope in his heart and dreams in his head.” —Emil Zatopek
So I got 5. Astros 4. Rangers 3. Dogers (they will choke when it matters) 2. Braves 1. Phillies
Orioles should be there. They just improved their rotation with Corbin Burnes. I would put them at #3
