Intro
I wanted to tell everyone that I couldn’t post a newsletter yesterday. Sorry if you were expecting it. But anyways, we saw a CRAZY weekend of action in the NFL, a CRAZY weekend of playoff baseball, and a CRAZY weekend for Taylor Swift fans (I know what’s going on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. The world is watching you.)
Bye, Bye, 0 loss teams. Welcome to the 1 loss club.
The Eagles and the 49ers both lost a game on Sunday, and you know what that means. Both of them almost lost in walk-off fashion. The 49ers lost to the best defense in the league, with Brock Purdy playing the worst game of his career. He lost to the BACKUP QB for Deshaun Watson, PJ Walker.
The Eagles, on the other hand, lost because Jalen Hurts threw his 3rd interception of the game, Devonta Smith couldn’t catch a football anymore, and the Jets defense played so well. They brought the blitz up against Jalen Hurts and he couldn’t do anything. Although he threw some great passes in the start, they just couldn’t keep up with all the turnovers they were giving away.
There are now 5 teams with 1 loss and those are the Eagles, 49ers, Lions, Chiefs, and Dolphins. The Dolphins play the Eagles on Sunday Night Football next week, we’ll talk more about that later.
Upcoming Matchups for the 5 teams stated above
Dolphins vs. Eagles
Chargers vs. Chiefs
49ers vs. Vikings
Lions vs Ravens
Rangers are ranging towards the World Series.
A shutout, then a close win against the reigning world champs? The Rangers are definitely ranging towards the World Series and quickly. They are yet to be beaten and are showing themselves as the most dominant team in Texas even though, they aren’t playing in Globe Life Field…
Framber Valdez went 2.2 innings, striking out 6 and giving out 4 runs. While Nathan Eovaldi went 6 innings, striking out 9 and giving out 3 runs. This was yesterday’s game.
Arizona Diamondbacks take first L in playoffs.
The Arizona Diamondbacks snuck into the playoffs. They swept the dodgers and suddenly seemed like a threat to the other teams, especially with how they played in the first game. Now, they took their first L against the team that always gets hot in October, the Philadelphia Phillies.
Zac Gallen came into the game and Kyle Schwarber hit a LEADOFF HOMER against Zac (408 feet). Then the next thing you know, Bryce Harper hits a home-run (on his birthday. Happy late birthday, Bryce!) Then in the bottom of the 2nd, Nick Castellanos hit a home run. 3 home runs in two innings. Those were the HR’s from the Phillies side. Suddenly, in the top of the 6th, Geraldo Perdomo his a 2 run shot to make it a 3 run game. After that they got a sacrifice fly, but that was it after that. The Phillies hot October continues.
Dallas Wins!
I underestimated Dallas, although I feel like Justin Herbert did better than Dak Prescott. Dallas's fans should be happy because Prescott’s int number didn’t go up. I have no other words for the mistake I made picking the Chargers.
How did I do on my picks this week?
On Tuesdays, the NFL week is over, so I usually tell y’all how I did with my picks. If you don’t know who I picked, check out the newsletter I sent on Friday for more info.
