NFL Sunday Picks || Philadelphia Union SWEEP New England and Advance! || MLB Trade Rumors and Free Agent Interests. || Lebron and Lakers get ASHAMED
Edition #18
Intro
We got some American Football, United States Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball to cover. I don’t exactly know why I went this formal, but I do what I feel like here. By the way, Shohei Ohtani is giving baseball gloves to every elementary school in Japan. Let’s get this UP, UP, UP, AND AWAY!
Philadelphia Union SWEEP New England and Advance!
Chris Donovan scored in the 79th minute and goalkeeper Andre Blake recorded his third career playoff clean sheet as the Philadelphia Union beat the 10-man New England Revolution 1-0 on Wednesday night.
Philadelphia swept the best-of-three series with New England to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals. They will face Cincinnati, the East’s no 1 seed and winners of the Supporters’ Shield.
The Revs were reduced to 10 men prior to half-time. Midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye was given a red card in the 45th minute after stepping on Dániel Gazdag. The decision came after a VAR check for violent conduct.
Donovan, who entered the 67th minute, redirected Jack McGlynn’s free kick for the game-winner. Donovan’s tap-in was enough for the Union to complete a two-game sweep, opening-round sweep.
Philadelphia won a road match in the MLS playoffs for the first time in club history. The Union lost their first four before drawing 3-3 away at LAFC in the 2023 MLS Cup final, only to lose on penalties.
The fourth-seeded Union will continue their defense of the Eastern Conference title in a single-elimination match against FC Cincinnati. To return to the Eastern finals, Philadelphia will have to get past the No. 1 seed and MVP candidate Luciano Acosta. The semi-final will be played on 25 November or 26 November in Cincinnati.
New England lost a home playoff match outright for the first time in team history. The Revs had recorded 13 wins and six draws in their last 19 MLS playoff matches in Foxborough.
MLB Trade Rumors
Here’s a bulleted list of what’s happening.
Dodgers' interest in Teoscar Hernandez
Padres Reportedly Interested in Trading Juan Soto
Eduardo Rodriguez opts-out and doesn't care where he signs geographically.
Dodgers interested in bringing back All-Start DH J.D. Martinez, but would like to try the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes first
Mike Trout on the block
Nick Castellanos could be available in trade talks
Dodgers linked to Roki Sasaki, Aaron Nola, and Blake Snell
Clayton Kershaw undergoes surgery, so does Kike Hernandez
Brandon Crawford says he wants to play another year.
Mostly a lot of dodgers news as they look to be the most active ones this winter, just like the Padres last year. No updates on the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes yet, but I definitely know something will be decided for him in the next couple of days. Meanwhile, Matt Chapman (Free Agent 3B), attended the GM meetings. The GM meetings went to Shohei Ohtani a few times, and they all talked about what kind of generational talent he is.
NFL Sunday Picks
Sorry folks, no podcast this week as well. I’ve been trying to save up time for it, but even if I do one, I probably won’t be on a proper schedule. Anyways, same format as last week, pick then score, but I’ll also include a HOT TAKE!
Yesterday’s Thursday Night Football went well. I guess for me. I picked the Bears to win, and they did. Tyson Bagent threw for 162 yards, while Bryce Young threw for 185. There were NO turnovers by either QB. Carolina had 43 rushing yards in this game, which could’ve been a cause for this loss, and the Bears had 133. D.J. Moore had the most receiving yards, while Strachan had the most for the Panthers. The Bears defense was the one that came up big, though, with sacks. The Bears are 2-0 on TNF and the Panthers are 0-5 away from home.

LEBRON AND LAKERS GET ASHAMED BY ROCKETS
LEBRON HAD ONE OF THE BIGGEST LOSSES IN HIS CAREER ON WEDNESDAY. He lost to the rockets 128-94. It has now been added to the list of Lebron’s Biggest Losses in his Lakers Career. 42 vs Indiana Feb 2019, 37 vs Denver Jan 2022, and 34 vs Houston Wednesday Night. The Lakers are now 3-5. If you’re a Lakers fan, should you worry?
Yes, you should. You’ve got a team of old people, so this year, it’s basically Larry O’Brien trophy or bust. They definitely do not look like a contender. This could be because of Anthony Davis as well. He did not play in this game (hip), while Lebron had 18 points. Anthony Davis has missed an average of 35 games each of the last three seasons. He isn’t that old, but he doesn’t get healthy. It’s the age of staying just right. Lebron misses 27 games every season, and he is old, so that means your two best players miss a QUARTER of the season. They also are the worst three point shooting team in the league, second to last IN MAKES, the worst first quarter team with a point differential of -74 in 8 GAMES!
Lebron’s stats with AD is where he’s 98-53 and without he’s 40-40, which means without AD, LeBron actually wins half the games. I’m shocked, but stats are always right. (Mostly always right……………………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..…………………………..)
